General Waste & Recycling:

There are rubbish bins around the Hackspace. Our waste is sorted after collection so recyclable items can be put in the the same bin.

Please don't put food waste, noxious chemicals, or lithium batteries in our bins. You need to take these items home.

If you find a full bin, please empty it into the building's big wheely bin, which is around the side of the building, near to the door for Unit A.

The building's wheely bin is sometimes locked to prevent fly-tipping. If you find it locked, there is a bin key hanging on a hook in the cupboard under the stairs.

Do not pile waste up next to the wheely bin, or leave it in the space. If you can't find somewhere to dispose of your waste, please take it home.

The skip gets emptied every week.

Wood Waste: Large pieces of wood waste (including ply and MDF) should be taken home with you. Our waste collection is not large enough to cope with all the wood waste generated in the woodshop. Bagged sawdust is fine to put in the general bins & wheely bin.

Batteries: Non-Lithium Batteries can be put in the battery bin in the social room. Take lithium batteries home.

Food Waste: Please don't put food waste in our bins.
