Proposals
Proposals are our system for putting forward and agreeing changes to the space. It covers buying, adopting, or upgrading tools, equipment, and infrastructure.
Types of Proposal
There are three types of proposal. They require different levels of support based on their cost and complexity.
Proposal Type | Qualifying Criteria | Support Needed to Pass |
---|---|---|
Micro | Costs up to £60 / A new risk assessment not required / A new space does not have to be made | Support given on forum by 4 members & 2 directors |
Small | Costs up to £600 | Support given on forum by 12 members & majority of directors |
Large | n/a | Passes a majority vote amongst directors, and passes a majority vote at a general meting |
Proposals Process
To make a proposal, start a thread in the proposals category of the forum, filling in the template with the required details. When making a proposal, at a minimum you should detail what you want to do, what you want to buy (and how much it costs), where it will go, and who will do the work.
To pass, a proposal needs a certain about of support from members and the directors. Support for micro and small proposals should be voiced in the forum thread for that proposal. Support for large proposals is measured at a general meeting vote.
If a proposal attains a sufficient level of support, it is considered to have passed, and can go ahead.
If a proposal is altered after support has been given, only support given after the change is counted. Earlier support must be given again.
