MVP
The user can view a list of numbered storage slots, with the status of each slot shown. This includes whether it's currently available or booked, and when the current booking ends.
From the storage slots list, the user can click to book an available slot for the standard booking period, if the user does not currently have the maximum number of concurrent bookings.
Separately, the user can view a list of their current bookings, and the expiry dates.
From the current bookings list, the user can click to release a booking they currently hold.
Stretch Goal 1
From the current bookings list, the user can click to renew a booking by the renewal booking period, if that booking is within the rebooking period, and the booking has not already reached the maximum number of renewals.
Stretch Goal 2
From the storage slots list, the user can click to book an unavailable slot if if it will become available within the Book Ahead Period. Their booking will be for the standard booking period, starting from when the current booking ends.

- Maximum Number of Renewals - how many times a slot booking can be renewed (eg: once)
- Renewal Booking Period - when the renewal option is available in relation to the end of the booking (eg: 1 week)
- Book Ahead Period - when the booking option is available on soon-to-expire slots, in relation to the end of the current booking (eg: 3 days)
Stretch Goal 3

Hello Folks!
Here's a couple of quick updates on the expansion project.
Next Working Weekend
The next big working weekend will take place in September (date TBC), when we will aim to build the new storage area downstairs, and clear out any remaining items in the old main room ready for @Sammy_C to set up the new woodshop into there. (Thanks @Sammy_C!)
Fancy Helping in August?
In the meantime if you want to help keep things moving, there are a few outstanding jobs upstairs. These jobs are:
Set up the electronics test bench - This involves working out how to sensibly and safely arrange the various boxes of tricks on the shelf over the bench, and sorting out power to them all in a neat fashion. The right person would ideally be someone who knows all the test equipment and has strong arms, because some of it is quite heavy!
Attach the lead dangler to the side of the test bench - This involves figuring out a way to securely attach the frondy cable holders to the end of the shelf above the test bench, so our test leads and scope probes have somewhere to live.
Put up a new museum shelf - This involves taking down some of the old museum shelves and using the bits to put up a new one in the new electronics room. The right person for this job is happy climbing ladders and drilling into walls.
Attach the 3 x bench privacy dividers in the Long Room - This involves accurately marking and drilling holes in the MDF dividers and in the metal frame of the benches, then assembling with rivnuts.
Build the electronics room hackrack - This is probably the most involved task, and will involve a bit of woodwork.
3D print holsters to hang soldering tools on each solder bench - Thanks @Microanglo for taking this on!
Build a bench for the PCB CNC - Thanks @Caitlin for taking this on!
Setup extraction for the PCB CNC - Thanks @Sam_P20 and @aaron for taking this on!
If you're interested in helping out with any of the outstanding jobs, please let me know and I can give you some more details. Anything still outstanding by the september work weekend will be added to the list then, so it’s no worries if this still doesn’t get done sooner..
New Storage Systems from September
At the January Member's meeting we agreed that we would overhaul our short term project material storage as part of the upstairs expansion. This means that in September we will move away from having a free-for-all storage / dumping ground corner, and build a bunch of cubbies of varying sizes. These cubbies will ben be bookable using the induction PC (and eventually online).
Back in January we also voted to shrink the size of our project boxes so more people could have one, and in September we’ll also complete the transition into the smaller boxes.
If you currently have a lot of material stashed in the storage corner, now would be a good time to start thinking about taking it home (or using it).
If you currently have stuff in one of the old-size project boxes downstairs, now would be a good time to transfer it into one of the new smaller boxes upstairs.
Cheers!
