There are some specific rules related to use of the specific workshop areas of the Hackspace:

  • Never store anything the workshop areas. This includes your project, materials, waste, or donations. Ad-hoc storage is simply not appropriate in this environment, because of the potentially hazardous nature of the machinery.
  • If you're doing woodwork, you must do it in the Woodshop, This is to prevent rest of the space getting covered in sawdust.
  • Our bins don't accept wood, MDF, plywood, etc, so you need to take all your waste wood away with you. The only exception to this rule is bagged sawdust.
  • If you are using the machines hooked to the permanent extraction, you must use the extraction too.
  • If you are using machines that aren't hooked to the permanent extraction, you must use the mobile extractor.
  • If the extractor you are using is full, bag up the waste and put it into the building's skip.
