Risk of electric shock when measuring high voltages. Check the probes are not damaged and that the voltage you are measuring does not exceed the input's rating.

Basic Guidelines
- Be aware of what you're trying to measure, to avoid damaging the scope or your circuit
- ensure meter leads are left on the voltage setting when you put them away
- can actually measure more than 10mA despite the name
