 You should make sure you use the correct presser foot for the stitch you are sewing.  To find the recommended foot, press the "i" button on the machine.  The foot number will be displayed.  +To change the presser foot, raise the presser foot lift, then press down on the presser foot until it disengages.  To attach, line up the notch on the presser foot holder with the pins on the presser foot, and gently lower the presser foot lift. The foot should click into place.
