Introduction
Instructions For Use
Check if the bag needs emptying or changing before and after use.
Airborne wood dust is hazardous to health. Wood dust should always be vacuumed rather than swept with a brush to avoid creating airborne dust.
Large chips, eg from planing or the wood lathe should be gathered up using the dustpan and brush and binned before vacuuming.
Do not use without a bag fitted.
Do not use without a filter fitted.
No Wet Use.
This machine is for use with wood dust in the wood workshop, if it is used with liquids it will get gummed up inside.
Do not use this extractor for liquids … unless it is an emergency. Instead, use the Charles vacuum from the CNC for liquids.
If there is an emergency need to use this for liquids, it has that capability, please read page 10 of the manual for how to set it up. (clean out wood dust, remove bag, change filter) and ensure that you clean and dry the vacuum after use.
If the extraction velocity monitor is red, press and hold the filter shaker button for 3 seconds. (device/extraction must be on) the filter will continue the shaker function for a further 5 seconds after release.
Changing the Bag
Removing the Collection Bag
The collection bag must be replaced when the extraction velocity monitor goes to red and stays on red.
Unlock the container catches and remove the lid.
To remove bag undo the container hose pull bag off the container deflector flange.
Close the bag by flipping the tab over (fig 4 below).
Dispose of the filter in a suitable container according to the applicable laws.
It is good practice to change the bag regularly to guarantee optimal cooling of the motor.
Inserting a new Collection Bag
Spare collection bags are kept in the cupboard in the hall. If we are running low, please ask on the consumables forum thread for more to be ordered.
The collection bag has a card-reinforced opening with a tab at the top.
Handle the bag with care to avoid damage.
Insert the collection bag into the container with the opening towards the front of the vacuum cleaner (images below).
Pull the bag opening over the container deflector flange ensuring the collection bag opening passes over the ridge on the container deflector.
